Common questions
Picking your fade.
- Which fade should I ask for?
- Start with where you want the line to sit. Low sits above the ear and reads conservative, mid sits at the temple and suits most people, high sits near the crown and gives the hardest contrast. A drop fade curves down behind the ear instead of running level, and a taper only cleans the neckline and sideburns. If you're unsure, ask for a mid fade — it's the most forgiving.
- How much is a fade in Santa Ana?
- At VVS, level fades are $45 and a drop fade is $50, each booked as a 30-minute appointment. Chain salons in Santa Ana run cheaper — the Great Clips on S Bristol posts $25 for a haircut. The difference is chair time and whether the person cutting specialises in fades.
- How often do I need to come back?
- It depends on the fade. A taper still looks intentional at four weeks. A low or mid fade holds two to three weeks. A high fade has the shortest window — ten days to two weeks before the line starts to show growth.
- Do you take walk-ins?
