The 7 hairstyles trending in Santa Ana right now
This isn't a trend-report list pulled from somewhere else. These are the seven cuts we're actually putting in chairs at VVS Barbershop this spring, in the order we cut them most.
1. Textured edgar pushback
A blunt fringe pushed back and textured on top instead of laid flat, over a low fade or mid fade. Suits thick, straight-to-wavy hair and anyone who wants a defined front without the harder blunt-edgar look.
2. Mid taper crop
A French crop's short, textured top over a taper fade instead of a hard fade. The most requested cut in the shop for guys who want something low-maintenance that still looks finished on day five.
3. Classic side part, skin fade sides
A hard part and a comb-over top over a skin-level low fade. This is the one we cut most for guys headed into interviews, court, or a wedding this month — it reads sharp without reading trendy.
4. Curly shag, high fade sides
Length and volume left loose on top, cut into a shag with disconnected layers, dropping into a high fade underneath. Works best on natural curl or wave — the sides give the top something to contrast against instead of just adding bulk.
5. Buzz cut with taper fade
A single guard length on top, tapered at the neckline and sideburns rather than faded. The lowest-maintenance cut on this list and the one we tell first-time clients to start with if they're not sure what they like yet.
6. Drop fade fringe
A textured fringe up top with a drop fade curving down behind the ear. Reads best from behind, which is exactly the point — this one's for guys who care how the cut looks after they walk away, not just from the front in a mirror.
7. Slick back undercut
Length on top pushed straight back with a strong-hold pomade, disconnected from a short, unfaded undercut. Suits fine or straight hair that struggles to hold texture-based styles, and it photographs cleaner than almost anything else on this list.
Not sure which of these fits your hair or your face shape? Bring a photo to your next visit and we'll tell you straight whether it'll work or whether a variation will look better — book online or see the full fade lineup before you come in.
